Remember, AI isn’t telepathic — it only works with real places (popular or hidden). If your request is abstract, add context so the AI can understand your intent. Otherwise, it will pick reasonable matches based on your description.
WayGenAI’s goal is not to surprise you with random suggestions, but to closely follow your request. If you want to include or exclude specific places, write this directly in your query.
The current AI model predicts the best result based on what you say, not what you might mean but didn’t specify.

You can provide exact points, POIs, or addresses for start, end, or via waypoints.
For your final destination, you can refine results with preferences like price (cheap / moderate / expensive), rating (e.g., 4.2+, good, best), cuisine or brand, meal time (breakfast / lunch / dinner), “open now”, amenities (wheelchair access, parking, outdoor seating), or if it’s for a large group.
If you don’t specify “open now,” we’ll return the best options, even if they’re currently closed.

Note: Advanced filters (price, rating, cuisine, amenities, open now, etc.) apply only to your final destination. Intermediate waypoints are chosen by AI using general knowledge and popular options, but without detailed filtering. If you need a specific POI with such preferences as an intermediate waypoint, it’s best to set it as your final destination in a separate request.
The auto-detect of your location is used only to get your coordinates — you don’t need to manually adjust the address.
By default, AI looks beyond just the nearest spots, aiming for the best match to your request. If you want only nearby places, mention it explicitly in your query.

Current Limitations

  • Up to 5 intermediate waypoints are supported.
  • Search and routing are limited to the country (or special region) where your trip begins.
  • POI search is applied only to the final destination, not intermediate waypoints.
  • Each request is processed independently. AI doesn’t remember your preferences or previous trips yet.

Routing Styles (what to expect)

  • Default Balanced and optimized routing style that automatically adapts to the selected transportation mode for the most natural and efficient experience.
  • Scenic Prefers picturesque areas and optional detours, not necessarily the fastest. Long generation process.
  • City Special walking mode for urban paths, not only main streets.
  • Cheap Prioritizes free roads while trying to keep travel time reasonable.
  • Avoid Tolls Avoids toll roads and ferries.
  • Avoid Highways Prefers smaller local roads and avoids major highways, even if the route becomes slower.
  • Avoid Freeways Avoids freeways and motorway-style roads while still allowing regional highways when needed.
